Prayer Ministry at St Andrew’s

Prayer is at the very heart of who we are as a church. It connects us to God, strengthens our faith, and enables us to care deeply for one another and our community. At St Andrew’s, our prayer ministry creates space for people to encounter God, receive support, and join together in seeking His will.

Below are four key ways you can engage in prayer with us:

Join Us in Prayer

Prayer is not just an activity—it is a way of life. Whether you participate in one of these gatherings or pray quietly at home, you are part of a wider community seeking God together.

If you would like to be involved in the prayer ministry or have a prayer request, please contact us.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” — Colossians 4:2

1. Prayer After Church Services

Each week following our services, members of our prayer team are available to pray with anyone who would like support, encouragement, or guidance.

Whether you are:

  • Facing a challenge or crisis

  • Seeking clarity or direction

  • Celebrating something and wanting to give thanks

  • Or simply feeling led to receive prayer

You are warmly invited to come forward. Our prayer team offers a safe, compassionate, and confidential space where you can be heard and lifted up in prayer.

2. Thursday Prayer Meeting (11:30am)

Our weekly Thursday prayer gathering is a dedicated time to pause, reflect, and seek God together as a community.

When: Thursdays at 11:30am

Where: [Insert location details]

During this time, we:

  • Pray for the needs of our church family

  • Lift up our wider community and nation

  • Seek God’s guidance for the ministry and mission of St Andrew’s

  • Spend time in quiet listening and shared reflection

All are welcome—whether you are new to prayer or have been praying for many years.

3. Prayer Vigils (7am – 7pm, Twice a Year)

Twice a year, we hold extended prayer vigils—12 hours set apart to seek God together in a focused and intentional way.

Times: 7:00am – 7:00pm

Frequency: Twice annually

These vigils provide:

  • An opportunity for continuous, dedicated prayer

  • Space for personal reflection and spiritual renewal

  • A powerful expression of unity as we pray across the day

You can participate for as little or as long as you are able. Many people sign up for a specific hour, ensuring that prayer continues throughout the entire day.

4. Monthly Prayer Calendar

Our monthly prayer calendar is a practical tool to help guide and deepen daily prayer.

Each month, the calendar highlights:

  • Specific areas of prayer for St Andrew’s ministries

  • Needs within our congregation

  • Opportunities and challenges in our local community

  • Our wider mission and impact beyond the church

This resource helps us stay connected and intentional, praying together even when we are apart. The calendar is available [online/in print – insert details].
